Crudup joins Depp in gangster film

Billy Crudup has finished filming 'Watchmen' and has begun shooting his new role in 'Public Enemies'.
According to Empire, the gangster film will be directed by 'Miami Vice's' Michael Mann and co-stars Johnny Depp and Christian Bale.
Depp will play legendary outlaw John Dillinger, Bale will play FBI agent Melvin Purvis and Crudup will portray FBI Director J Edgar Hoover.
Stephen Lang, who is currently working on 'Avatar' and previously worked for Michael Mann on 'Manhunter', will also star as the head of the Texas Rangers in search of Dillinger's gang.
Shooting is currently underway in Wisconsin and both 'Public Enemies' and 'Watchmen' are due for release next year.
